Spring Walk 2017

Meeting point: Will be announced after the reconnaissance is done by Barbara.
On the day: There will be two groups of walkers:
Scenic Walk - approximately for an half hour (Level: easy)
Hike - approximately for two and half hours (Level: intermediate)
We will explore the John Forrest National park.
Location: Park Road, Hovea 24 km E of Perth

John Forrest has long been favoured as a site for a day-trip from Perth, with its variety of plant communities and wildlife and being a starting point for many walk trails. There are outstanding views from the lookout point on the scenic drive and a wide variety of attractions and facilities that make it a popular venue for families and groups. >> website of park

Short version: 15-20 minutes walk, following steps 1-4 from picnic area to Glen Brook dam wall, crossing the dam wall and returning to the picnic area on the same way.

Intermediate version
30-40 minutes walk from picnic area, around the Glen Brook Dam, and back to the picnic area.

Long version
80-120 minutes walk
From the picnic area walking north on the the Bridal Trail (orange dots), turning west onto the trail (brown -- -- ) and back along the Clutterbuck creek to Hovea Falls, and back to picnic area.

Fees
The Day Entry Pass provides entry to a park for a day visit. (more
than one park may be visited on the same day using the pass
purchased that day) The pass can be purchased at a park entry point.

$12 per vehicle (up to 12 legally seated people).
$6 per motorcycle and concession cardholders
(see `Concessions´).

$5.50 per passenger or $1.70 per concession cardholder (see
Concessions´) in a vehicle with more than 12 occupants but not
on a commercial tour.
